Multi Tool Uses - The Daily DIY

Is This The Best Multi Tool Ever?

You’ve probably heard of, or have at least seen a painter’s multi-tool. Most tool brands have their own type. A quick online search shows versions between 5-in-one to 17-in-one. However, they are not just for painters. These tools have so many great uses for many projects around your home. But, is this the best multi tool ever? Let’s take a look at one to see how many tools it can actually replace.

Painter's Tool - The Daily DIY

15 Uses For This Paint Tool

First let’s look at all the uses for the Husky 15-in-1 Painter’s Tool, according to the manufacturer:

  • Bottle Opener
  • Roller Cleaner
  • Paint Can Opener
  • 1/4″ nut driver
  • 3/8″ nut driver
  • Nail Puller
  • Convex Scraper
  • Crack Opener
  • Spreader
  • Chisel Scraper
  • Hammer
  • 3/16 slotted screwdriver
  • 1/4 slotted screwdriver
  • 5/16 slotted screwdriver
  • 3/8 slotted screwdriver

Of course all of these uses are helpful when painting. In fact, you don’t need to carry any other tools with you anymore when painting a room. With this in mind, grab your roller, drop cloth, wet rags, roller tray, and a multi tool and you’re good to go.

Other Uses For This Multi Tool

In addition those listed above, here are several more that I’ve found:

  • Corner scraper
  • Prying trim
  • Separating building materials
  • Opening Boxes
  • Use with a hammer to remove tough nails to protect the material’s surface
  • Cutting tape
  • Staple puller
  • Wallpaper removal
  • Clean weeds from concrete joints
  • And so much more!

These would also be great to keep in your hiking or camping bag, as well as your home tool kit. If you are a beginner DIYer or new homeowner, I would definitely recommend this tool as part of your starter tool kit.

Is It Durable?

Finally, let’s talk about durability. Because the stiff, yet flexible blade is made of carbon steel, it can take a lot of abuse. I’ve used this to scrape and pry apart so many building materials and the tool keeps on going. Husky even offers a lifetime warranty. In the even that it breaks, call Husky Customer Service and they’ll send you a new one.

While this tool isn’t a complete replacement for many tools, it certainly is great to have in your tool bag to grab in a pinch.

To demonstrate many of the uses listed in this article, I put together a quick two minute YouTube video:
