Best Ready To Assemble Cabinets, A Review
Are you planning a kitchen, bath, or laundry remodel soon? Have you considered using ready to assemble cabinets for your project? I recently used ready to assemble cabinets from Lily Ann Cabinets in my kitchen remodel. I am amazed at the price, quality, and ease of assembly.
What Are Ready To Assemble Cabinets?
Ready to assemble, or RTA, cabinets ship to you in what they call “flat packs”. The flat packs contain all the cabinet parts with the hardware included. This not only allows for easier and cheaper shipping costs, but faster shipping times too. You then assemble the cabinets yourself, which saves you money in labor costs. Since the packaging is smaller, you can carry them in to the room you’re working on to assemble them. Quick and easy.
Using these type of cabinets are a great way to simplify a build, save money, and reduce frustration. Hopefully I’ll answer your questions and lower any hesitations you may have about using ready to assemble cabinets.
How Easy Are They To Assemble?
The RTA cabinets from Lily Ann Cabinets were so easy to put together. If you can use a screwdriver, then you can do it. All the parts come pre cut, pre drilled, and ready to go right out of the box. It took me less than 15 minutes to assemble an upper cabinet. Base cabinets took a few minutes longer since there are drawers to assemble as well.
Think of it as simply putting together a six sided cube. I was able to assemble all the kitchen cabinets by myself except for the tall pantry. I had my son help me with that one due to how long it was.
Are They Good Quality?
Lily Ann Cabinets is well-known for their high-quality cabinets. When I was researching RTA cabinets, I found amazing reviews online. Also, a friend of mine put Lily Ann Cabinets in his kitchen remodel over eight years ago. And his cabinets still look incredible today.
They manufacture all their cabinets, and craft them using real wood, never particleboard. The Colorado White Shaker kitchen cabinets that I chose are crafted from Grade A birch, with a 1/2″ solid plywood box construction. They design them with their ready to assemble dovetail process. There are no L-brackets or metal clips visible like other RTA cabinets have.
These cabinets come with soft close hinges and drawer glides. And they look and feel like high end, custom cabinets.
Are They Really Cheaper?
Yes! When comparing the cost of these RTA cabinets from Lily Ann Cabinets to other cabinets of the same quality, I saw significant savings. Additionally, they have a free designer that works with you to help you design your space. We went back and forth a few times with changes, and the designer was quick to turn it around. They even send you two free cabinets samples. The samples are a piece of the actual cabinet door, so you can see, and feel the quality of them.
I was able to get free shipping based on my order total, so that saved me money as well. And, they arrived within five days of me placing the order online. It’s been a great experience all around working with Lily Ann Cabinets.
Whether you are looking for new kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, or cabinets for a laundry or garage project, I’d recommend Lily Ann Cabinets over the big box stores. Measure your space, then go online to request your free design and quote. It’s that easy.
I assembled and installed these cabinets with just a friend and myself, and it was super easy. I also did the install of butcher block countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and a tile backsplash in this kitchen remodel project.
